La Bal Masqué Nocturne: Masquerade of Fools 2009

Spring Hopes Eternal

Plans often become fluid. No matter how you schedule and scheme, sometimes you have to change your plans.

In 2006, we made concessions in expectations in order to hold our first La Bal Masqué Nocturne. We booked the hall, but they limited what we could do. We threw it anyway and we had a wonderful time. We incurred debt, but still made a donation from our own pockets.

In 2007, plans fell apart early. We learned some hard lessons that year. Yet through the efforts of our friends, we held the Ball virtually in the online world of Second Life.

It is 2008, and our best laid plans have once again fallen apart. We are learning to adapt, however. We may have another online ball, but sadly, certainly we won't be holding it in town this October.

Looking forward to 2009, we'd be fools not to continue to plan another Masquerade Ball. Perhaps we are fools either way. So here we go again.

The current scheme, still unscheduled but being hatched behind the scenes, is a Masquerade of Fools in April 2009.
