La Bal Masqué Nocturne: Masquerade of Fools 2009

Spring Hopes Eternal

Plans often become fluid. No matter how you schedule and scheme, sometimes you have to change your plans.

In 2006, we made concessions in expectations in order to hold our first La Bal Masqué Nocturne. We booked the hall, but they limited what we could do. We threw it anyway and we had a wonderful time. We incurred debt, but still made a donation from our own pockets.

In 2007, plans fell apart early. We learned some hard lessons that year. Yet through the efforts of our friends, we held the Ball virtually in the online world of Second Life.

2008 LBMN has officially been cancelled

Sadly, the decision has been made to cancel this year's ball. Chief factors are the economy, Michelle is looking for a new job, and the general lack of time.

However, we are working on Spring 2009 plans. "Spring Hopes Eternal" at the new MasqueradeOfFools.com

We are hoping that a Masquerade Ball on the first weekened of April will be unique and a draw that does not compete with Halloween interests, as LBMN has for a couple years.

Oooh shiny....

FOR THE BLOOD IS THE LIFE

Our compilation CD is now available!

The album of dark music, FOR THE BLOOD IS THE LIFE, is on sale now for only $13. Chiefly we are selling this to raise money to host La Bal Masqué Nocturne this year, which in turn is to benefit the ACS.

However, in addition, part of the sales of the CD will be donated directly to the Joe Murphy Memorial Fund.

So you get to listen to some wonderful music and help out some good causes.

Snapshots from LBMN2007 in SecondLife

First, I'd like to apologize for the short notice on the plans that changed for our Second Life Ball. The event was almost cancelled due to lack of interest. However, we were able to carry on, even if for a short while, to have the Ball in Second Life. We learned a lot in how to make this happen, and are considering future Second Life events, even ones parallel with real world events.

For those that didn't make it online, I've uploaded snapshots that I took from the event. (I tried to record video but it didn't work out.) Check out the flickr photo album to see the pictures.

The Second Annual La Bal Masque Nocturne -- a virtual reality?

We are still working on the details, and I hate to keep up the mystery and suspense...

... but I have to, just a little bit longer.

The good news is, however, the Ball will happen this year on October 13th!

So for now, mark your calendars, and stay tuned to find out more!

2007 Update

Well folks, we know it has been far too long since we have given any updates. Even though we don't have all of our answers yet, we believe you deserve to know what is happening with The Ball.

The fact of the matter is that as of this writing, we will not be hosting La Bal Masqué Nocturne in 2007.

So, what ARE we doing and planning? We are already making our plans for October 2008. Our goal, as you may already know, is to create an event that people (and vampires) will wish to attend every year and have a great time for a great cause.

New year, new site...

Folks, bear with us as we create a new home online for La Bal Masqué Nocturne.

More details to come!
